Annex

The Annex is located on the second floor of 823 Seymour Street - between Robson and Smithe Streets.

It is accessible by stairs and elevator.

The Annex is easily accessed by public transportation, including the SkyTrain. Take the Expo Line to Granville station or the or the Canada Line to Vancouver City Centre. Walk east to Seymour street, and then south towards Smithe Street. The Annex can also be accessed by many trolley bus lines. Check the Translink website for schedules and routes.

There are several City of Vancouver Mobi bike-share station that are location at and nearby our venues. Please visit www.mobibikes.ca for more details.

Parking near the theatre is limited. Give yourself extra time before your event to find parking. There is no parkade attached to the Annex, but there is parking in the neighbourhood, at meters, and public parking lots.

Wheelchair seating is available on the Main Level at row 1.

Wheelchair accessible washrooms are on the main level, there is one wheelchair stall in each of the men’s and women’s washrooms.

The ANNEX is equipped with a RF Advanced System. Currently the LR-4200 receiver can be connected to a Universal Ear Speaker or headphones (with 1/8” / 3.5mm Aux connector) or to a neck loop lanyard for use with T-Coil hearing aids. Please go the coat check upon arrival to request a hearing assist unit. These units are free to borrow – with the deposit of ID or a major credit card (that will be returned when you return the unit.) Patrons may opt to use their own headphones (1/8” / 3.5mm Aux connector.) Patrons wanting to use either a VCT headset or neck-loop and receiver (for T-Coil equipped personal hearing aids, or cochlear implants) should request these in advance by emailing VCTAudienceServices@vancouver.ca

Elevator access is available through the main entrance and will access all levels.

Only certified guide and service dogs are allowed into VCT venues.

Guide and service dogs help people with disabilities avoid hazards or perform tasks. Guide dogs help people with visual impairments while service dogs help people with other kinds of disabilities such as hearing impairments and epilepsy. They can help a person navigate through public areas, alert them to sounds, open doors and do other tasks. British Columbia’s Guide Dog and Service Dog Act and regulation govern how guide and service dogs and their handlers are certified. Certification increases public safety, raises training standards and improves public access for dog and handler teams.

Emotional Support Animals (not certified) are currently not allowed in VCT venues.

Box office hours are dependent on the event. Please check your event's website for hours and on-site ticket sale details. VCT acts primarily as rental facilities and do not operate a box office. The box office is operated by the ticket seller for the promoter of the event and is not open between performances.

The lobby is open one hour before performances.

No coat check is available at the Annex.

If you are late to a performance, please be aware that you might not be able to enter the auditorium right away.

To honour the performance's integrity, the show's producer will determine 24 hours in advance when latecomers may be seated. Video monitors are available in the theatre lobby to follow the action on stage. In some cases, latecomers may be seated in the Gallery. Patrons may move to their purchased seats at the first intermission. In other cases, latecomers

Vancouver Civic Theatres requires that all audience members, including children, must have a ticket. There are no exemptions to this policy regardless of the child’s age.

All children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by another patron 16 years of age or older.

The Vancouver Civic Theatres aims to provide safe spaces for enjoying entertainment and culture for all. Please do not wear scented lotions or perfumes to the theatres. We all share the air!

Taking photographs and recording performances in theatres is not allowed unless authorized by the promoter or producer. Cameras and recording devices may be confiscated by theatre staff for the duration of the show.

Certain items may be confiscated at the door by security if deemed dangerous. Please refrain from bringing large bags.

All wheeled items other than wheelchairs must remain in the lobby during the performance. These items are considered hazardous if an evacuation becomes necessary.
